THE MISSION

What are we trying to do?

Tired of all of the campaigns promoting singular causes, we've decided to create a community of "good citizens" and a platform that will allow  individuals to support and advocate for causes in a more personalized way.  The Citizand community is about passion and participation.  You must apply to become a member; not everyone will qualify.  You may be included in the Citizand network if you have a track record of doing "good" things -- volunteering at a local soup kitchen, donating to the cause or charity you believe in, etc.  Based on your profile and cumulative activity, we may assign you to a thematic sub-group of master users, where you will be able to anonymously provide feedback on companies and non-profits working in the space you are most passionate about.  Of course, this is up to you.

For example, if  Sara supports a non-profit focused on rain forest conservation, recycles, and volunteers to plant trees on Arbor Day, Citizand may request Sara's input in rating Business X, a company claiming to work in an environmentally sound and sustainable way.  This allows Sara -- someone who is both passionate and informed about environmental conservation -- to have a voice.  Add Sara's feedback to the other 10,000 "green" Citizands and you have a green movement with a very loud voice and substantial impact.
